Your End Might Be Close

Luke 12:19: “And I will say to my soul, ‘Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years. Take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry.’ But God said to him, ‘Fool, this night, your soul will be required of you.’”

According to the United Nations, as of the year 2008, 6,775 people per day are dying in America. Putting this into perspective, that’s 2,423,018 deaths in this country per year (or the population of a large city being buried annually).

We all think that we’re going to live forever. The reality is that for eternity we will either be in Heaven with God or in Hell without Him. The person who lives unconcerned about this, Jesus rightly calls a fool. We should today be concerned about this because our end might be closer than we think.
