What You Put on the Wall Matters

Proverbs chapter two, beginning at verse one: "My son, if you receive my words, and treasure my commands within you, so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding, if you seek her as silver and search for her as for hidden treasures; then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God."

In these verses was a promise I felt as a young believer in Christ, that God Himself had given to me. I wrote them out and put them on my farmhouse kitchen wall. Every day I was able to meditate on them, read them, and learn to apply it to my heart. I began to cry out for the ability to love good and to hate evil. I lifted my voice for God to give me understanding of His word. I'll tell you, my friend, over the years I found out one thing-God answers prayer.

It's time to pray.
