We Are Not Powerless
The Gospel of Luke, chapter 10, verse 17: “Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, 'Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name.' And He said to them, 'I saw Satan fall like lightening from heaven. Behold, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.'"
I want you to see today in this passage that when we, as believers in Christ, go forward in His name, understanding our position and authority, how quickly and decisively Satan is cast down from places that he formerly occupied. It's a picture that every true follower must lay hold of again in our time. We are not powerless. We must rediscover our authority. As lightning falls quickly to the ground, so do our prayers dislodge evil that has claimed the higher ground.
It's time to pray.
