Walking in Triumphant Faith
In Luke, chapter 22, verse 31, Jesus encouraged Peter with these words: "'Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.'"
In our lives, our faith will go through times of sifting, even to the verge of spilling over. It's a picture of how Satan wants to deal with all of us. Even when we're brought to the end of ourselves, he won't stop sifting until we go over the edge.
But we have this great promise. Jesus said, "I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail." Jesus knew that Peter would come back with a faith that would strengthen others and build up the kingdom of God. God wants to cultivate a tried faith, so that you and I can walk in a triumphant faith.
Remember, it's time to pray.
