They Were Spared

Jonah 3:4–5 says, “And Jonah began to enter the city on the first day’s walk. Then hecried out and said, ‘Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!’ So thepeople of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, fromthe greatest to the least of them.”

Jonahis a story about a city that had only a little more than a month before it wasgoing to be destroyed. Nobody at that time was aware of this fearful moment. That is,except God and the messenger of mercy He sentto warn them.

Scripturetells us that all the people, even the King, humbled themselves before God.Because of this heart response, they were given mercy and spared. In Americatoday, it's time for those who know God to speak.

It'stime to pray.
