They Had No Oil

The gospel of Matthew 25:6-8, "And at midnight a cry was heard: 'Behold the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!' Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil for our lamps are going out.'"

You know, these words of Jesus tell us that when darkness came, covering the face of the nation, that many who thought they had a relationship with God discovered the emptiness of their profession. There was nothing within them that could point others to Christ. The lamps had been all about themselves. Lamps, ironically, that Christ Himself had declined to fill. They, as many will, discovered their error too late. There was no more time.

It's not so for you. If you can hear me today, it's time to pray.
