Love Your Enemies

Matthew chapter 5, verses 43 and 44: “It was said, you shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your enemies. Bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.”

We're given the commandment to love our enemies and to look for opportunities to bless them. Today many people don't know what they're doing, just as Jesus said once about the people during his crucifixion. People today will never know God's goodness until they experience it through us, his people. We know it's impossible to do this in our strength.

We don't want to bless those who hurt us, and we don't want to pray or love our enemies. However, it is possible to do these things through the strength of God's Holy Spirit within us. Talk to God about it today.

It's time to pray.
