Lay Aside Every Weight

Hebrews 12:1 says: “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.”

In this verse of scripture, the Lord asks us to have confidence in His promises and His record of faithfulness towards so many who have gone before us. He has never failed any who have chosen to trust in Him. Understand that today.

That’s why in Matthew 6:31–33, He says, “Do not worry. Saying, ‘What shall we eat, what shall we drink, or what shall we wear?’ But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
