If They Could Only Hear

2 Samuel 18:33: “Then the king was deeply moved and went up to the chamberover the gate and wept. And as he went, he said, ‘Thus, oh my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom, if only Ihad died in your place. Oh, Absalom, my son, my son.’”

I ampersonally saddened today at the report of another suicide of another high-profileperson.

Though outwardly successful, he couldn’t escape the innerpull towards a life of violence and darkness. His final act of violence wasagainst himself. If only he had heard the cry of God for his soul, the one whodied so that he might have life. The only way others will ever hear it is fromthose of us who intimately know Christ. It’s time for you and me tocry out for them.

Remember, my brother, my sister, it’s time to pray.
