If I Fell

Proverbs 24:15 begins, “Do not lie in wait, oh wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous. Do not plunder his resting place, for a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again.”

An old Beatles tune starts with the line, “If I fell in love with you, would you promise to be true?” I suppose the Christian version of this would be, “If I fell, God, would your promises still be true?”

The verse I read is not a license to sin but rather a promise that if our hearts are truly sincere, God will lift us up as many times as you and I ask for His help. Maybe you have fallen today. Perhaps you’re feeling hopeless. Open your spiritual eyes, and you will see His hand stretched out before you. Take it.

Remember my brother, my sister, it’s time to pray.
