His Joy Will Become Your Strength

Nehemiah 8:10 says: "Do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength."

The people in Nehemiah's day were grieving and convicted of their sins. They had the understanding that they couldn't uphold the law, nor did they ever live up to God's standards or deserve His redemption. However, Nehemiah reminded them not to be sorrowful but to celebrate and allow the joy of the Lord to be their strength. They understood that even in their sin and their shame, God had been faithful to them.

A lot of people don't understand the joy of the Lord. They believe that they must pretend that they have joy in their hardship. You need to understand today that it brings God joy to heal you, restore you, and set you free. And when you do, His joy will become your strength.

It's time to pray.
