He Gave Us a Purpose
The book of Acts, chapter 1, beginning at verse 6: "Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, 'Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?' And He said to them, 'It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.'"\n\nFor the disciples, the whole world must have seemed in upheaval. They, as we do, longed for Jesus' final return and an establishing of true order and justice. Rather than give them a date, He gave them and us a divine purpose for living while we're still in this present world. He promised power for each of us to make us a visible sign to those who are searching for meaning in life, that they, too, can have a living and eternal relationship with God! We must be that witness now. It's time to pray.
