Going Beyond Our Limited Reasoning

The Gospel of John, chapter six, verses five through seven: "Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming towards Him, He said to Philip, 'Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?' But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do. Phillip answered Him, ‘Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may have a little.'"

Jesus saw the need of a great multitude coming towards Him and He knew that that need could not be met through human resource. Yet Philip's natural instinct was to look inside his own pockets and sadly, it's often our natural response as well. Jesus wanted to demonstrate how the Kingdom of God works, and it doesn't work by natural means.

My prayer is that we would move in faith that causes us to go beyond our own limited reasoning and turn back to God and His resources. In order to do it, it's time to pray.
