Ask For Spiritual Eyes

Revelation 21, beginning at verse one, says, “Now I saw a new Heaven and a new earth, for the first Heaven and the first earth were passed away, and there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.”

The apostle John was in prison. All around him were hopelessness, coldness, and despair. Though John's physical eyes may have been closed as he prayed, his spiritual eyes were open. Jesus showed him a glorious future, something almost too wonderful to behold.

When you pray today, ask God for spiritual eyes. Ask Him for the power to look beyond your circumstance. The Bible says that the Holy Spirit will show us things to come. Let the Lord lift you and let Him give you hope today.
