A Comfort We May Have Forgotten

1 Thessalonians 4, beginning at verse 16, says, "For the Lord himself will descend from Heaven with a shout with the voice of an archangel and with the trumpet of God and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus, we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore, comfort one another with these words."

The early church had comfort that many of us have forgotten today. We would do well to revisit this truth. It was the comfort of knowing that Jesus Christ was soon coming for His church to take us all home. As ours increased, their days were difficult as well. If they find comfort in this thought, we must revisit it and begin to speak about it again.

The last words of Jesus in the Bible are, “Surely; I'm coming quickly.”

It's time to pray.
