We Must Die to Our Own Will
Luke 22:41–42 tells us that Jesus knelt down and prayed, "Father, if it is your will, take this cup away from me. Nevertheless, not my will but yours be done."
If we are going to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit, we must first die to our will. We have to die to the way we think things should be done. If Jesus had chosen another way instead of the cross, today, we would have no hope. There would have been no redemption, no sacrifice for sin. Oh, thank God that He chose to do it His father's way.
If we choose another way, how many people will miss eternity because we refuse to embrace God's will? This generation now needs us, and the only way that we can be effective is if the spirit of God leads us to do the will of God.
It’s time to pray.
