Victory in the Christian Life

John 3:30: “He must increase, but I must decrease.” What a profound truth is contained in this short verse of scripture. John the Baptist saw something that is our key to victory in the Christian life. In John 6:63, Jesus said, “It is the spirit who gives life, the flesh but profits nothing.”

Human effort will ultimately fail, but the life of Christ within us cannot. As we yield to His life within, we begin to be changed from what we are naturally destined to be into what He supernaturally desires us to be.

This has to be your prayer today. Like John, the Baptist says, “Oh, God increase your presence in my life. Help me to give way to you.”
