The Rain Came
Genesis 7, beginning at verse 11, says, "In the 600th year of Noah's life, in the second month, the 17th day of the month, on that day, all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened, and the rain was on the earth 40 days and 40 nights.”
They never believed that such a day would come. The warning that they had crossed a line with God was clear, but, as always, they chose to follow their reasonings above the word of God. They justified evil and made a mockery of good. They daily passed by the opportunity for mercy that God had commissioned to be set in plain view. They mocked, laughed, and ignored Noah's words, warning them that consequences for their behavior were soon to come.
Then one day, without warning, the rain came. It was too late to find mercy. The door of safety had closed.
In America today, it's time to pray.
