Can You Be Moved

In Jonah 4:11, God said these words to the prophet: "And should I not pity Nineveh, that great city in which more than 120,000 persons cannot discern between their right hand and their left and much livestock?"

Sometimes it can be challenging for even God to deliver His people from self-focus. God wanted to show mercy to a corrupt society, and the one called to speak on His behalf wanted little or no part. The spokesman focused on his comfort and his plans. And in his heart, he'd already judged those God Himself wanted to forgive.

So how about you today? If God wants to show mercy to someone whose lifestyle you've already judged, are you available to speak for Him? Can you be moved from the place of your comfort and opinion to offer someone else the mercy of God?

It's time to pray.
