Are You Weary?

In Matthew chapter 11, beginning at verse 28, Jesus says, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

Who can argue that our society has an almost unprecedented weariness today? People are tired of the continuous divisive speech, the incivility, and the constant revelations of immorality (just to name a few). Above all the clamor and the noise of a country that foolishly believes it can thrive without God in its midst, His merciful voice once again, and perhaps one last time, calls us back to the rest that only He can give.

Get up today, open your Bible, talk to Christ, and let His peace again fill your heart.
