An Open Window
The book of Daniel, chapter six, verse 10: "Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.”
It was a time in society when evil was gaining access to authority and laws against religious freedom were on the horizon. However, one man, Daniel had a promise from God and knew that the window of God's mercy was still open. Continuing to pray, even at the threat of being accused, his life was set on a course of touching obstinate hearts and changing laws.
May God give us again the eyes to see that the window of His willingness to restore us is now open for a season. Lord, give us the tenacity and courage that we now need.
It's time to pray.
