A Prayer I Hope I Never Hear You Pray
Here's a prayer that I hope I never hear you pray. It can be found in Luke 14:18. Here's what it says, "But they all with one accord began to make excuses. The first said to him, 'I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and see it. I ask you to have me excused.'"
The expression "I ask" really means "I pray." In other words, "I pray to be excused." To hear people make excuses is telling God, "I have investments in this world that I have to look after. Please excuse me from your invitation. I don't have time to be fully given to it."
When we excuse ourselves from the work of God, we essentially push away from His table and vacate the very place where He intended us to be our strongest. Oh, thank God. He keeps inviting us to participate in His work. Thank God today that He never gives up on us.
Remember, for you and I, it's time to pray.
